During the Teen Choice Awards, on August 10th, 2009, Miley performed her hit single Party In The U.S.A. After the performance she was met with negative reviews for her "pole dancing". Frankly, I did not see any "dancing". All i saw was a 16 year old girl on top of an ice cream cart holding on to a pole. She did one risque move, but even that was hardly anything. Critics are blowing her "pole dancing" way out of proportion. Granted, was "pole dancing" the smartest thing to do at a children's program show? No. But she isn't all to blame. She does have choreographers. I think Miley takes alot of blame for alot of things she does, and it needs to end. She is 16 years old, and teenagers have a free right to do whatever they want. Just because you're "Hannah Montana" does that mean you need to walk around with a halo? Critics need to leave her alone, because she hardly did anything that could be sparked as inappropriate. Move onto celebrities who actually do something wrong. The picture is the "risque" move that I was talking about, and even that is hardly worth mentioning. I won't be like Chris Crocker, and tell you to "LEAVE MILEY ALONE", but i do feel she gets hounded way too much, and it needs to come to an end. I personally am a huge fan of her, and sure, I could be a bit bias. But, Miley can't stay a young girl forever. She needs to spread her wings and fly. Everytime she tries to fly, we have her crash down the next minute. Let her be the person she wants to be. If you or your children find something wrong with it, maybe Miley isn't the role model you were looking for. But Miley Cyrus is a true role model who needs to be left alone.
